Terms of Use

Last updated: 2025. Plain-language terms for using Datum Bench's free tools.

Acceptance of terms

By using Datum Bench, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What Datum Bench is

Datum Bench provides free, browser-based tools for coordinate conversion (including Nahrwan 1967, WGS 84 UTM, Dubai Local TM, ED50, NAD27/NAD83 and other systems), CSV batch conversion, KML/DXF export, and unit conversion for angle, length, area and volume. All tools run client-side; no account or payment is required.

No warranty, use at your own risk

These tools are provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or merchantability. Coordinate transformations depend on datum, realization, local control, and transformation parameters, and standard EPSG parameters may not match a locally-calibrated transformation used by a specific authority or project.

For cadastral, legal, construction-layout, or otherwise high-precision survey deliverables, always verify results against known control points and your project's applicable specification before relying on them. Datum Bench is a convenience and reference tool, not a substitute for professional surveying judgment or a licensed surveyor's certification.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Datum Bench and its author are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, these tools — including but not limited to errors in converted coordinates, data loss, or project delays.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use this site to upload or process unlawful content, to attempt to disrupt or overload the site, or to misrepresent the origin of converted data (for example, presenting a rough conversion as a certified survey result).

Advertising

This site may display third-party advertising (such as Google AdSense) to support the cost of maintaining these free tools. Ads are served by third parties and Datum Bench does not control their content. See the Privacy Policy for how advertising cookies are used.

Intellectual property

The Datum Bench name, design, and original written content (articles, FAQ text) belong to its author. The underlying open-source libraries used (proj4js, PapaParse, and others) remain under their own respective licenses.

Changes

These terms may be updated as tools change. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
